Commissioned by the Coutlet family in 1840, the hotel, which became a landmark of Chamonix with the addition of its tower after the First World War, closed in 1990 but was lovingly restored and re-opened to offer a boutique hotel right in the centre of the village.
With just 30 rooms, it offers a delightful, relaxing ambience. The library-style bar with open log fire and terrace is quiet and peaceful, the frescoed breakfast room is charming - and the relaxation centre is a great place to unwind after a hard day's skiing.
The bedrooms, mainly located in the Tower, have been beautifully restored and now offer all the modern amenities with excellent bathrooms. Sizes vary and there are some stunning 2-roomed suites including the Suite "L'Ancienne Tour" at the top of the tower under the rafters.
