Avoriaz Ski Resort

One of the most distinctive in the Alps, Avoriaz is perched high up on a snow-shelf looking down over a cliff edge towards Morzine and beyond. The resort’s architecture takes inspiration from this rugged setting, using varied heights and walkways, with a nod to tradition in the region’s typical tavaillons – wooden tiles set onto dramatically angled, sloping roofs.

There are no cars, making for a calm, safe atmosphere that is perfectly suited to families with young children. In addition to this, the lifts are situated very close to the accommodation, another fantastic perk for families and keen skiers alike. Between its breathtaking panoramic views of the Dents du Midi and Dents Blanche, wide variety of skiing terrain and eight-metre average seasonal snowfall; Avoriaz truly holds an appeal for different types of skiers from all over the world.

Avoriaz resort is part of the Portes du Soleil – a ski area so vast it stretches over into Switzerland. Encompassing 24 mountain areas and 50 summits, there’s something for everyone, no matter your level.
